Happy Thanksgiving

I can't believe Thanksgiving is allready here! No yummy food for Kylie but it will be her first one! We'll be spending it with Jared's family.
Kylie continues to grow like a weed. She was 14.2 pounds and 25 inches long at her 2 month appointment. We were not given a percentile because she is off the charts in both areas! You will see some pictures of her next to the bear for her 2 month birthday - but she was not nearly as cooperative this time around :) I could have probably gotten her at a different time but did not have the energy.
The big new this month is that Jared and I became an aunt and uncle! Ellie Rebecca Holden was born to my brother, Ben, and his wife, Emily and I can't wait to meet her! (It will be a while though :( ) But by looking at her pictures she's super cute!
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and here are just a few recent pictures....

Update on Bob

I talked with the vet today and the news is a little better than I had thought from her message. I my last post I said he had the type of skin cancer that spreads. I was confused. While it CAN spread it is very unlikely to and takes a while when it does. What IS likely to happen is that he will get more spots like the one we had removed that are cancerous. It will not be the same instance of cancer but because he's had one allready it's an indication there will be more. This is also unlikely to kill him - especially due to his age since it can take so long to spread if it ever does. I also mentioned there is another spot beginning to form. She said to keep an eye on it and we probably don't need to remove it unless it's really bothering him or getting so large that we think it's gotten pretty deep. If even more spots appear in the future and we choose to have them removed it will be a little less expensive to get them all done at one time. I hope to not ever need to make that decision. AND I know bob hopes to never wear this stupid cone around his neck again! I am taking it off in the morning and hopefully keeping it off!So...better news than I thought and I hope he doesn't get any more spots and he can be with us a while longer!

I finally caught her

She started smiling a couple weeks ago or so but I wasn't sure she was really doing it purposefully. It became very evidentlast week that she knows exactly what she's doing and I finally caught her...

Bob

This is our dog, Bob.

I love Bob. He's a great dog. We adopted him nearly exactly 6 years ago from someone Jared worked with that did alot of traveling which was hard on Bob. He was 6 at the time I believe. I think he's 12 and a half now. Maybe 13 and a half. I couldn't ever keep it straight based on when we got him and when his birthday was. He's so well behaved and such a good dog. He's only ever destroyed one thing he wasn't supposed to and it's only been in the past several years he's had accidents inside the house - but that hasn't even been too many and it's just due to his age. The poor dog has not gotten as much attention since the boys were born. But is so patient and likes to sleep on our bed with us at night :)
Sadly, Bob has skin cancer :( We had something suspicious removed this week and that's pretty pricy! The vet called today and said it's skin cancer and it's the kind that spreads. She'll call again Monday so we can discuss different things about it but I'm pretty sure there's another spot allready forming :( We can't pay to get these constantly removed when another one might show up the next week. They did remove the one in it's entirety so that would be good - if there weren't more. Given that he has cancer she said the only thing that can be done is keep him comfortable and consider removing them as they appear. He's acting normal now but I can tell you that aside from the fact they are expensive to remove he definately does not want to live most of the rest of his life with a cone on. he really hates it and it makes him nervous.
So...we have some hard decisions to make probably next week and as I'm sure whatever happens he'll be around a while longer we'll have some more hard decisions in the near future :(
Having pets can be hard because we love them so much :(

Dates

My dad is in town this week and I have had the opportunity to take both boys out on a date by themselves (Jared hasn't even gotten that yet!) and it has been alot of fun. We have eaten lunch at Bob's and it's so funny to see their different personalities. We really haven't done this. Sometimes Jared and I would each take one of them but we haven't really done anything like this before. I was noticing that Jaden especially needed it. Both boys had fun and obviously enjoyed having one on one time with mom but for Jaden it was clearly important to him that I was focusing on him and he was obviously disappointed when it was over. For Jackson it seemed a little more about getting to do everything Jaden did the day before. I asked them both alot of questions and Jaden would kind of answer but would rather tell me things or have me do things with him (coloring and stuff). Jackson would answer questions and I would often ask him repeat questions to see if his answer was the same. Many times it wasn't but he was always quick to answer. It was really funny. Here are pictures and a video of me interviewing Jackson. I had wanted to ask Jackson (before this video) who was his best friend but didn't think he'd get it so here's what happened... Me: Who is your favorite person? Jackson: my froggie! Me: Who is your best friend? Jackson: Jaden Oh, and he clearly has no idea that Christmas exists, what it means or what you do. I'd ask him about it and he would think, then say "I don't know" The boys were very excited to see the other one come home and whoever stayed home got to play with playdough with geep!

Photo catch up

Here are our latest photos. Some random ones, some carving pumpkins, and some of Geep's visit.
This Halloween we talked about taking the boys to a church event but they don't eat that much candy, I didn't want to buy costumes, my dad was coming that night, and I didn't think they'd really know. Well, thanks to TV they DID know and wanted to do it. So we bought some candy and they seemed quite happy with their part being to hand out candy to kids at the door. Jackson would wait at the window until he saw kids and after they left would request his piece of candy :) Jaden was a little scared. The first costume that arrived was actually quite scary and he freaked out. He cautiously began to enjoy the evening a little later (which means taking him to an event full of costumes may not have been a good idea anyway.)
Oh, and pictures of our anniversarry dinner that Jared made for us at home. Complete with Kylie at the table :) The boys were spending the night at their grandparents!
enjoy the pictures!
