I hate making up blog titles.

Well, at least Jaden has somewhat fixed hair today and is eating. I'd say he's at about 90%. Continue to pray Jared doesn't get sick. We've reached the "it's too late for him to get sick unless it's monday" point.
From 2010\Mar\31 (by Eye-Fi)

Jackson finally had some success with potty training today. He sat there for an HOUR. He was fine with that. I kept him entertained. I was literally 5 minutes from giving up and am so glad I waited!
Kylie is trying to put herself into a 2 nap schedule and going to bed a bit earlier. Sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night and sometimes not. She rarely cries when I put her to bed anymore. However, with this nap change it seems that she wakes up shortly before the boys "nap" so I never have a time when all kids are down. I'll give her a few days to settle in and then try to adjust something with either her or the boys probably. It is now 1:30 and she's been sleeping since 10:30. And she was SO ready to go to sleep. I'm thinking she might be growing so that might be part of it.

Getting Better

Well, Jaden is still on the couch today but at least he's eating. I did call the dr today (I never do this) and based on his improvements they said they don't need to see him (yay!) So glad he's eating! Meanwhile, Kylie looks on. I think she's changing her schedule so she was crying ALL morning. Jaden was NOT doing well first thing this morning and poor Jackson - he's just getting bored. So Jared came home part way through the day and is out with Jackson. I can tell Jaden is disappointed Jackson is going out so much by himself with Jared though he doesn't really say anything about it. So I try to make him feel special being here with me and Jared promised him that when he's better he'd take him out to do something fun.

Kylie is doing so much better with sleeping. It used to be i'd feed her around 9 and then rock her to sleep which took until between 9:30 and 10:30. I didn't used to rock the boys to sleep but since the boys are already asleep when I'd put Kylie down I didn't want to let her cry to sleep because I didn't want them to wake up. Recently she apparently decided she does NOT want to be rocked to sleep. The first night just putting her in her crib didn't go so well - took a while but she slept after that. But the past couple nights she'd gone down with barely a whimper. She still likes to be swaddled (though it's all apart in the morning) and I play lullabies for her as she falls asleep on a cd player. Music really helps distract her. Then she'll sleep almost always until between 7:30 and 8:30. She was skipping a morning nap for a while and taking a long afternoon one. Today, however, she took a LONG morning nap so we'll see what happens this afternoon.
I planned to hang out pretty much all day in the bathroom today for potty training (and all this week) since I don't have any plans during the day. But Jackson isn't here and jaden is sick. So I think tomorrow (and probably the rest of the week) I'll ONLY do Jackson (he needs the most work with this anyway) and then focus on Jaden mostly next week. Hoping for further progress!

mickey mouse, cheerios, and crazy hair

Hopefully I'll be doing a bit more updating since I've been able to change how easily I can upload things. I got an "eye-fi" card which is a wireless memory card for your camera for Christmas (well, recently with my Christmas money) In fact, I got a great deal because technically it came with something else I purchased for less than the cost of the card! Anyway, It doesn't work exactly as I would choose BUT I have it currently set to upload automatically to my computer, picasa web albums, and Youtube. So whenever I have a second I can just do a blog post from any computer without having to wait to upload anything (which was definately the longest part of the process).
here's a few pictures of Jackson feeding Kylie cheerios (he thought this was great) and watching videos on my ipod while potty training. He'll kill me for these photos later but I think they're cute and the are not inappropriate at all.

Jaden is very sick today :( Not sure if he ate bad food or has a bad bug. Noone else is sick though Jackson had a couple minor issues yesterday. Jaden and I are hanging out at home while Jared and Jackson are out and about and here he is.... (check out the crazy hair - this is due to the required bath he got in the middle of the night last night)

And here is Jackson feeding Kylie cheerios. He was really excited about this.

Please pray we don't catch Jaden's bug -especially Jared. I don't usually catch these types of things but Jared does and he has a week where he really can't be that sick as he's leading worship at the Easter services at church. If he MUST get sick then I think Tues would be the best day. Thanks!

March

March has been a busy month. Though I'm not really sure why.
The boys continue to confirm they are done with naps which is challenging for me. I'm still attempting to do a "rest time" but that's tough too. Still thinking this one through. Every once in a while I'll get a nap out of them. They're being good boys and now that the sun has been out more you can't keep them inside!
Kylie has tried a few new things lately....an apple in one of those teething net things. She's not sure what she thought about it but chewed on it anyway. A sippy cup - doesn't drink out of it but grabs it and puts the right part in her mouth so she'll get it eventually. She tried cheerios the other day. It was a great distraction. She wasn't interested in putting them in her mouth (weird because she puts everything else there :)) but thought it was a great project. Jared put some in her mouth and she ate them but wasn't too glad :) We put her in the swing the other day and she thought it was nice. In the pictures it looks unsafe because she's so little in it, but it's impossible for her to fall out. Even if she goes back she can't fall.
I've lost some video apparently because I'm doing things a new way and I guess I wasn't being careful :(
Here are a few videos of the kids on the Wii and one random one of Kylie. Boring, but it's all I have since I lost the others.
Some pictures too....

Brief Update

I'm so behind. Sigh. Here are a few bits of info and a few pictures. I'd like to say and show more .... but.... take what you can get :)

The boys are so over having a nap. I'm not so happy about this and am trying to figure out how to implement a "quiet time" though they share a room - and exactly what that will look like. They come up with the funniest things to say. Hmmmm. Haven't written many of those down lately....

Kylie is great. her growth seems to have slowed down. I'm pretty sure she's getting more teeth based on how she's acting - but I can't seem to figure out for sure which ones. She loves holding all her toys and chewing her teethers. She rolled over the day and was really angry about it. She's done it several other times as a result of trying to get something. But she really isn't a fan. I've given her a few teething biscuits. I never did these with the boys because they seem so gross and messy and it's not something they need. With Kylie, she REALLY wants to be in on the action when we eat and often bores easily. This has been a good solution. However, she's still in the stage where she drops things all the time and these little crackers are too small for her to reach on the table - so that's kindof a pain when we give them to her. We'll probably start some baby food soon. She is willing to eat a little baby oatmeal and rice cereal - but she clearly doesn't like it. Jaden offered her his drink with a straw the other day when I wasn't looking. She totally went for it. I'm pretty sure she'll never take a bottle but maybe soon we can work just a little on sippy cups. Maybe then I can get a date without taking her along (this is getting harder to do) I've been in the habit of rocking her to sleep after I feed her. she shares a wall with the boys and keeps them up if she cries herself to sleep (we used to allow the boys to do this and it didn't last long) However, she goes to bed after the boys and it wakes them up. Anyway, these days she screams and cries when I rock her before bed. I think she doesn't want to be swaddled. If I don't swaddler her though she's not happy and keeps waking up crying. Sigh. she'll get used to it soon i guess.

We played the Wii for the first time as a family. The boys love it. We did bowling and sword fighting (or whatever it is called). The boys love those. Except they like to loose the sword fighting and fall in the water.

Enjoy the pictures!

Random

Random tidbits of information:

Kylie has 2 teeth! You can barely see them but can definitely feel them. I didn't really know these were coming so it was quite a surprise! Fun stuff but I'll miss my toothless baby!

Kylie LOVES LOVES LOVES her jumperoo! Can't get enough of it. This makes me happy. It has taught her to move her body in ways she didn't know she could which means her bumbo seat will soon be out of the question. This makes me sad.

Kylie is SO close to rolling over. Actually, she's come so close I'm certain she would do it if I left her on the floor long enough. The thing is, I rarely leave her on the floor front or back. When she's there she can't see what's going on and she HATES that. She'd much rather be sitting up (which she's actually close to doing on her own too - at least for small periods of time)

I already mentioned we rearranged our furniture. Jackson is constantly reminding us about the way the furniture is "supposed to" go. He actually seems to be enjoying the new way but change always initially makes things a little off in Jackson's world.

I cannot for the life of me get the boys potty trained. Part of this is the exhaustion of it which creates lack of effort on my part. However, I can sit them on the toilet but they NEVER go. Sometimes they sit there a REALLY long time. I just found out at church this week that they go every week there. They don't just tag along with everyone else or sit there and do nothing. They actually GO. Punks. :) At least it means maybe we're on our way to a bit more success.

Jaden has chosen the word "snip" or "snippers" to say when he is angry. Jared and I do not really have a word we say. Oh, except for "blast!" :) I don't know where he got this. He said it came from watching hermit crabs. Whatever that means. It makes me laugh though.

Jared is back to leading worship. He's leading a team at church that plays once a month. He was doing this before we left for the other church. Now he's back at it and just loves it. He really needs this in his life so I'm glad he's able to do it.

Hmmm. Thought there was more to say but I guess that's about it :)

Rearranging

We shampooed the carpets the other day and had the itch afterwards to rearrange our living room. Long story short we got more drastic than anticipated and moved all the upstairs furniture downstairs and the downstairs furniture upstairs. I think I like it. It's definately more cozy and comfortable downstairs and we will now be able to make the upstairs a fun play room for very little if any money so I'm excited about that! However, the living room downstairs is a bit less open. Plenty of room for the kids to play - just not as open as it was before. We'll get Kylie's contraptions out eventually which will help and if they're mostly playing upstairs it doesn't much matter. We'll see in time though if I really prefer this. I liked the look of the old way better but this is allright too and as I said, cozier. Jared did inform me that we will not be switching floors with the furniture again. (we did it ourselves and it was heavy - AND we dinged up the walls pretty bad in the stairway and will need to do some painting, etc). So hopefully I DO like it. Though we could rearrange what we now have down here a different way. :)
Here are some pictures (I know this post is boring to probably most of you :) but family will want to see it :)) The pictures aren't great but it might help you get the idea...
