Meeting baby Quinn

We got together with my brothers family today and the whole family got to meet Quinn who is right around one month old. The kids were very excited about holding her and we even snick in a somewhat decent cousins picture!

Mothers Day

Mothers day flowers. Jackson wanted Lillies and daisies are my favorite so this was perfect.i think at this point we only own one vase and it's packed who knows where in the garage so we made do with a pitcher :)

Overall I had a nice Mothers day weekend. Last year was rough because we moved out of our house on Mothers Day and moved to NC the next day so we were doing a lot of work.
I was looking forward to this being a relaxing day - but it wasn't at all.
We left for lunch and to stop at the store and then Jared brought me home for a nap. When we got home a police officer was waiting for us and said he had been called because we had run over two little girls in our culdesac and then driven away (at least I think that's the story). One of them was at the hospital (for minor abrasions). We were in shock. I'll spare you all the details but when we backed out we saw the girls and felt and heard nothing (our window was down) and no one tried to get our attention as we drove away. There were no witnesses. The two girls were separated to tell their version of the stories and their stories matched. Obviously something happened but we are so confused and upset. Regardless, all the adults have been very nice and were sure before we even came home it was an accident and have been very nice to us. It looks like nothing here will turn into an issue. Jared talked through a lot with the officer )while I was inside bawling my eyes out. I'm thankful he can keep calm in intense situations and communicate clearly.
We are still very confused but it looks like we will just need to move on. I have a suspicion we are known by the neighborhood children as the people who run kids over. Sigh.
What did we learn? We will back into our driveway from this point forward while living here. Also if we wanted (and we didn't) we could have pressed charges against them for the girls being illegally in the rd. kids play in the street all the time but apparently they aren't really supposed to be which I was unaware of. Good info to know - and now I don't feel bad for not letting the kids play in the culdesac!

Nascar Speedpark

Ok, Jared was asking me about the videos. here they are - not as many as I thought... Here's mom and Kylie at the end of Kylie's first gocart ride ever.... Here's Dad and Kylie on the gocarts.... And here are the boys on their own...

Family Fun Day

Jared met his sales goal at work again this month so we said we would do something fun. A week or so ago the boys saw this famiy fun center they really wanted to go to. So we determined that would be the plan if the sales goal was met. However, it looked sketchy. I looked it up online and I'm pretty sure it is kinda run down and a bunch of stuff doesn't work. There was a nascar speedpark about 45 minutes from us and though I wasn't convinced of it's condition either but Jared got off work a little early and we headed up. It was HOT! We discoverd the putt putt was being recarpeted. They did however have a few holes open which was plenty for our little kids :) Everyone rode the gocarts. Dad had to take everyone around. I took Kylie once but only did the circle once so Jared got a video and not a picture. The boys even got to drive their own smaller ones. There was a small indoor playground and indoor arcades which the kids also loved. The boys especially liked air hockey. The bumper boats were out of commission too but I don't know that we would have used those anyway. You have to pay a set fee to go in and have unlimited everything - except arcade. I wasn't sure about this at first. But I think this actually turns out to be much cheaper and more relaxing than trying to have to figure out what you want to spend your money doing all the time. It wasn't too bad - Kylie was free. They also gave us a pile of tokens (which were all we used) since all their stuff was being repaired :) At the end we used our tickets for Jaden to get a little car, Jackson, a pencil, and Kylie some stickers. Then we ate at cook out (outdoor fast food place), went to a couple outlet stores at the mall, and then sonic for dessert. We got home late :) Everyone had a great time and Jackson even said it was "the best day ever!" Enjoy the pictures! I might eventually get a few videos on here, but I don't know :)
