Update

I think I've found a better way to update the blog. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

One of Jareds coworkers gave the boys a soccer goal set and the kids have had a great time with it!

A Little Catch Up.

I'm going to try something in this post. I have pictures I take automatically print into books for me. It seems to be the only way to keep up with photos and keep track of things. I started pretty recently and have liked it so far. I just finished a book and I believe I can paste the link here so you can go flip through it online. I'd be interested to know if this works properly.  This book covers part of Jared's brother Michael and his Wife Elise and their visit to see us as well as a variety of other summer activities. Here's  link - let me know what you think!

First day at the pool

Something I was concerned about in moving to Co was whether we would be able to go to the pool or not. It does not seem to be a problem as far as the weather but it was hard to decide what to choose since it's more expensive here.  I was able to get a decent deal (comparatively speaking). We loved the YMCA in Charlotte and while the pool we go to here doesn't have as many water sprayers and little kids slides etc, this one really kindof feels like a resort.  No kidding.  I would totally hang out there all day and feel like I'm on vacation.  There is a workout facility, spa, and salon. The pool was fairly busy on this 90 degree day but not wild and crazy like with all the kids camp classes at the YMCA. We all had a great time.  It is definitely more difficult to go with an infant who is not even sitting up. She napped on me mostly and screamed when I put her legs in the cold water but enjoyed watching people. Kinda hard to keep her from burning.  I was successful but the sun is intense here for some reason even with a high level of sunscreen so I have to be careful with that baby skin!
There is graduated entry and a rope once you hit about 2 feet.  We all stayed there today so the boys could practice swimming.  They definitely need some practice after not swimming for nearly a year.  Once they brush up on their skills Jackson will start using the big waterslides.
Here are a few pictures...

Quick visit to Garden of the gods

At Garden of the gods.  The sky wasn't blue today. The boys really liked climbing so I'll have to watch that.  Some of these pics look a little scary but no one was actually on the edge of anything high. It just looks that way in the pictures.

Big Move

I've done a terrible job of keeping up with the blog - but we've had a lot going on!
At the end of January Jared and I flew out to Colorado to look into a job possibility for Jared.  It's a long story but in the end he was offered the job and we decided to make the move.
This began the long process of making the move, making plans, finding a place to live, etc.  Jared worked a week from home and then headed out to Colorado Springs for 2 weeks to work and find a place for us to live.  I stayed home and fed the baby and did school and fed the baby and packed and fed the baby and looked online at houses and fed the baby and worked and fed the baby - among other things :) God has been very gracious though in giving us Kendall and right about the time Jared left she started sleeping 12 hour stretches at night which helped me out a lot!
So much happened Janurary through March it is impossible to remember it all!
After finally getting everything finished we made the move on April 1.  Just a couple days before that one of our vehicles died so we had to get rid of it. We had a lot of trouble getting or car out here but it has arrived.  We used all but one foot of our truck which was making me nervous for a while.
Houses here are very different than in NC but Jared found a great one for a great price that is very convenient.  Our plan was to stay there on air mattresses until the truck arrived - which was supposed to be 3-5 business days.  It looks like it will be more like a week.
Instead,a very sweet couple from Jareds's office invited us to live with them while we waited.  They have space in their home available for when all their kids come to visit so we took it over and it has worked out really well.  Kylie has been excited to share a room with Kendall during this time.  They have been so much fun and so generous.  It's so nice to sleep in a bed, have things to use, do laundry, and they even feed us! So unexpected and such a blessing!
Someone sent some toys for the kids to play with and Jared's office owns a minivan we were able to borrow until ours arrived which was a huge blessing.
We've been cleaning the new place, setting up what we can, grocery shopping and doing normal life.  It snowed one day we were here and Mr Eric and Ms Julie sent Jared and I out on a date while they took the kids sledding! The kids had a blast!
They also took us to check out the Adventures in Odyssey headquarters at Focus on the Family and the kids had tons of fun.  They have a 3 story curly slide - Jackson went down tons of times!
It's snowing again today but it melts quickly and warms up fast.
The kids and I checked out a Bible Study where they actually have child care for all ages of my kids and we all had a great time and I was able to meet a bunch of people to hopefully get connected.  I'm sure we will have lots more fun adventures. Her are just a very few pics I took along the way....
